“Women turn to food when they are not hungry because they are hungry for something they cannot name”. -Geneen Roth, Women, Food, and God

Nutrition Philosophy.

Does food dictate your life? Are you using an app to track calories or exercise? Do you avoid parties because food is being served? Are you counting down the minutes until it’s “time” for the next meal? Do you struggle to leave food behind on your plate or finish everything in just a few minutes? Ever feel like you’re using food to meet emotional needs? Has your relationship with food gotten out of control?

We are interested in helping you or your loved one heal your relationship with food and your body. We believe that a healthy relationship with food encompasses a balance between physical, mental, and emotional health. This means that food doesn’t result in anxiety, fear, or distress. A healthy relationship with food also means honoring hunger, respecting fullness, and discovering satisfaction, separating our relationship with food from our relationship with exercise, and learning to eat all foods in variety and moderation. If this sounds impossible, we can help.

“The Japanese have the wisdom to promote pleasure as one of their goals of healthy living. In our fury to be thin and ‘healthy’, we often overlook it”.
